Ashlie

Ashlie is a passionate Spanish teacher with over 14 years of experience. She graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish in 2007. Her love for the Spanish language and culture has taken her to many Spanish-speaking countries, where she immerses herself in local customs, traditions, and dialects. She’s led educational tours for students, allowing them to experience the language and culture firsthand as well. These travels have deepened her appreciation for the diverse cultures within the Spanish-speaking world, and she strives to share these experiences with her students in the classroom. Teaching is more than just a profession to Ashlie—it’s a way to help students gain confidence, broaden their horizons, and develop a lifelong love for language and culture.

English, Spanish, and I’m conversational in French!
Why do you teach?
I teach because I love the “lightbulb” moment when a student suddenly understands a concept. It’s such a rewarding profession.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I would teleport! I would be in a different part of the world every day if I could just close my eyes and be wherever I envision.

Any secret talents?
