Hannah

Hannah (Huiqing) is an experienced and passionate Mandarin Chinese teacher with a strong background in curriculum development. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles, in Asian Studies and Chinese Linguistics, and a Master’s degree in Multilingual and Multicultural Education in the Urban Classroom. She is currently working on her second Master’s degree in Education with a single subject credential in Mandarin. Hannah has successfully designed and implemented comprehensive Mandarin curricula that cater to diverse learning needs, from beginners to advanced students. Her teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging, immersive environment where students can develop both language proficiency and a deep appreciation for Chinese culture.

What languages do you speak?

Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

Why do you teach?

I teach because I believe in the power of communication. Language opens doors to new opportunities and connections, and I enjoy guiding my students as they explore new ways to express themselves and engage with the world and new cultures

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I’d love the power to teleport. No more traffic or waiting around like in LA—just the freedom to explore the world at the snap of my fingers.

Driven, creative, and approachable.

Definitely Malibu Beach.
